League City is one of the largest cities in Texas with a Volunteer Fire Department. The League City Volunteer Fire Department has delivered great results for years and has saved the citizens millions of dollars.
Over the course of his 4 years on Council, Councilman Nick Long has fought for strategic investments in the Volunteer Fire Department and water system. These strategic investments include funding for a temporary fire house, water system improvements, and stipends for daytime firefighters. The outstanding performance of our VFD and these strategic investments earned the City a perfect fire protection rating, otherwise called an ISO 1.
An ISO 1 rating reduces homeowner’s insurance rates between 5-10%. This would save the average League City homeowner $75-$125 a year.
